Arsenal have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the signing of Fabian Luiz, 28.

Arsenal signed Declan Rice last summer in a £105 million deal. This summer, they are looking for a partner for Rice. With Thomas Partey out injured and Kai Havertz up front, the Gunners have been short on midfield options. The veteran Jorginho is available, but a solid central midfielder is needed.

With the likes of Mikel Merino (Real Sociedad) and Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle) on the shortlist, the club are reportedly interested in Luiz.

The Spanish international is a box-to-box midfielder who plays in the third position. He uses his sophisticated left foot to create attacks and has good ball-handling skills to break up attacks. He also boasts an excellent work rate in the center of the field. He"s considered to be a ‘hexagonal midfielder’, although his lack of instantaneous speed is a drawback.

Luis broke into the Italian game with Napoli in the 2018-19 season after playing for Real Betis. He was a mainstay for Napoli for 온라인카지노사이트 four seasons before joining PSG for the 2022-23 season. PSG acquired him for a relatively modest €22 million (approximately $330 million).

In his first season, he scored three goals in 27 Ligue 1 appearances, but this season he struggled to compete for a starting role. Luis Enrique favored the likes of Manuel Ugarte and Warren Zaire Emery over him, and he made just 21 league appearances. However, his Euro 2024 exploits led Spain to the tournament and caught the eye of Arsenal.

The British 'Give Me Sports' reported on June 26 (KST), “Arsenal want Luiz. They have opened talks with PSG to sign him. Luis has the passing and contesting ability that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants. He is a great fit for Arsenal.”

But there is a catch. In order to sign Luiz, the club must first sell players. Arsenal are currently in the midst of a squad purge and have sold the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Yakub Kibior. It is believed that they will need to sell to raise the transfer fee before they can make a move.
